Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Guide to the Azores receives, what happens to it and what choices you have. It is short because the site collects very little. Back to the Guide to the Azores homepage.

What this site is

Guide to the Azores is a static website, plain HTML pages served from Cloudflare Pages. There are no user accounts, no logins, no newsletter, no comment section and no advertising network. Nothing you read here is personalised, and we build no profile of you.

Information we receive

Two things, and nothing else:

  • The contact form or an email to [email protected]: your name, your email address and whatever you write in the message. It reaches us by email through the form service that delivers it, and we keep it only as long as it takes to answer you and any follow-up.
  • Ordinary server and network data: our host, Cloudflare, records requests (IP address, time, page, browser) to serve the site and protect it from abuse, under its own privacy policy.

Third-party scripts

Each page loads two third-party scripts. GetYourGuide's partner analytics tells that platform which of our pages sent a visitor who went on to book, so the commission can be attributed, and it is governed by GetYourGuide's own privacy policy. We run no advertising or social-media tracking pixels and we sell no data. If that ever changes, this page changes with it.

Some pages embed maps and YouTube videos. Those load only when you interact with them, and from that point the provider's own policy applies.

Google Analytics 4 counts visits and shows which pages are read and which links are followed. It sets Google's own cookies (`_ga`, `_ga_*`) and records an approximate location derived from your IP, your device and where you arrived from, under Google's privacy policy. We use it for audience measurement only, never for advertising.

Affiliate links

When you follow a booking link to GetYourGuide, or a hotel link through Stay22 to Booking.com, you land on that platform's own domain and its privacy policy takes over. We receive an anonymous confirmation that a booking came from this site, never your name, payment details or itinerary.

Where your data goes

Nowhere else. No data broker, no advertising exchange, no social plug-in. The email you send us is read by the people who answer it and by nobody else.

If you want a message deleted, say so in the message and it is deleted.

Changes

If the scripts on this site ever change, this page changes first, and the change is dated at the top.
