Terms & Conditions
By using Guide to the Azores you accept the terms below. They are worth two minutes before you rely on a ferry time, an opening hour or a ticket price from this site. Back to the Guide to the Azores homepage.
What this site is
Guide to the Azores is an independent editorial guide to the Azores archipelago. It is not the official website of the Governo dos Açores, Visit Azores, Parques Natural dos Açores, Terra Nostra Garden, Poça da Dona Beija, Atlânticoline, SATA Azores Airlines or any park, garden, museum or transport operator, and it is not affiliated with any of them. We are not a tour operator, a travel agency or a ticket seller, and we take no payments.
Accuracy and dates
Ferry times, flight routes, opening hours, closed days, admission prices and tour details are read from official and operator sources on the date printed beside them. They change, sometimes overnight, and often for weather, a restoration, a public holiday or a change to a booking system. Atlantic weather cancels boats and closes crater roads with little notice, and the Mount Pico ascent is weather-called by the mountain house on the morning itself.
Always confirm on the official site or the operator's booking page before you travel, buy or build a day around a figure you found here. We give no warranty that the information is complete or current, and we are not liable for a missed entry, a wasted journey or a decision taken on the basis of a page on this site.
Bookings are with someone else
Every booking you make after leaving this site is a contract between you and the operator or the platform, on their terms. Availability, prices, tickets, refunds, cancellations, safety and the experience itself are theirs. We hold no reservations, cannot change or refund one, and cannot make commitments on anyone's behalf.
The same applies to hotel searches reached from where to stay.
Affiliate links
Some links here are affiliate links and may earn us a commission if you book through them, at no extra cost to you. This never changes your price, the order in which tours appear or what we say about them. Links to official ticket offices are plain links and earn nothing.
See the affiliate disclosure for the full mechanics.
Your safety is your own
The places this guide describes include crater rims without railings, thermal pools hot enough to ban long soaks, ocean pools entered over rock at low tide, and open-ocean boat trips. Trails are graded and capped for a reason, and the regional rules about guides, permits and swimming bans are rules, not suggestions. Nothing on this site is guiding advice for your specific situation; read the official safety guidance for each activity and turn back when the weather turns.
